Steve Ballmer To Retire As Microsoft CEO

After 13 years at the helm of the home of the world’s most popular operating system, Microsoft have announced that Steve Ballmer is set to retire as CEO of the multi-million dollar corporation in the coming months. The announcement, which was made via an official Microsoft press release, comes in the wake of Microsoft’s recent moves to reimagine itself.

Windows 8.1 Release Slated For October 17th

Microsoft have finally set a date for the release of Windows 8.1 – the much awaited update to Windows 8. October 17th is the date Microsoft have picked to roll out the update as per a company blog post. The update will only be available through Windows Update on the set date but will hit retail shelves a mere 24 hours later (i.e October 18^th). All devices released after October 17^th should also come with Windows 8.1 pre-installed.
